Global Genes Responds to #ALSIceBucketChallenge!

August 12, 2014

Team Global Genes was all smiles as they challenged others to the #ALSIceBucketChallenge. The challenge has been taken on by many in the rare disease community to raise awareness for ALS.

Nicole Boice, who took on the challenge for Global Genes, took a moment to nominate some others in the community including Kerry Hughes at Harmony for Hope, Stephanie Fischer at PhRMA, the girls from Cimmorelli, Julie Jenkins of EveryLife Foundation, and Scott Shirely from Uplifting Athletes.

Celebrities of all kinds have poured themselves a cold one in honor of the disease–even Ethel Kennedy, who nominated President Obama to take the challenge!

“A good campaign starts at the grassroots and makes its way to the very top. Our family is proud to join the wave of advocates championing increased awareness and funding for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS),” Ethel Kennedy told Boston.com.
