Help Support Research for Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease

January 7, 2013

Organization: SK5K Race of Hope for CJD

My name is Jennifer Kelly Johnson, and in early 2008 my world was forever changed by Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). This disease is a degenerative neurological disorder (brain disease) that is incurable. Currently, not only is there no cure, there is no treatment. The cause is also unknown.

In an effort to raise awareness of CJD, I am pleased to announce the first-annual SK5K benefiting the National Organization for Rare Disorders, Inc. All proceeds from the event will be earmarked for CJD research in loving memory of Sandra Kelly.

The SK5K will take place April 27, 2013 at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC. Following the 5K, we will be hosting an after-party allowing participants, volunteers, and supporters to come together. My goal is to make the SK5K a premier annual event and am seeking partner organizations that can serve as event sponsors.

Please join us in making a difference. You can participate as a sponsor, a volunteer, or a runner. Every donation helps; we encourage creativity (and of course generosity!) when giving. We are currently looking for sponsors to help with money, food, giveaways, prizes, and even volunteered time. Please review our sponsorship and recognition tiers to determine your preferred level of contribution. To the hundreds of participants and thousands touched by our advertising efforts across the Winston Salem and greater Triad area, your involvement shows you care.

Visit us at www.SK5Kraceofhope.com for more 5K information. Additionally, please feel free to forward this information to other interested sponsors, runners or volunteers.

Thank you for your support and generosity!
