October 14th is Global Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis (FPIES) Day!

October 14, 2014

The FPIES Foundation has established October 14th as Global FPIES Day. FPIES (Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome) is a rare type of food allergy that is not IgE mediated and affects the gut. In honor of Global FPIES Day, we aim to raise greater awareness to this often misunderstood diagnosis. It is through education and awareness that affected children will achieve earlier appropriate diagnosis, better management strategies, and improved care.
Activities planned to honor Global FPIES Day include social media programs, educational packets to send and share with friends, families, providers, and medical professionals as well as events geared towards children. Please follow our website and social media to learn more about FPIES and how you can help observe this first Global FPIES Day!
