In preparation for World Rare Disease Day, Orange County based non-profit gets visit from the nation’s leading Health Champion for Rare Disease – Dr. Stephen Groft, Director National Institute of Health, Office of Rare Disease Research. The Global Genes Project has been gearing up for World Rare Disease Day since late last year, having volunteers make ‘blue denim ribbons’ as part of it’s awareness efforts in support of the millions of children and their families affected by rare disease and disorders.  Dr. Groft visited with volunteers, Global Genes Project team members, parent advocates and representatives from industry, to discuss plans for Rare Disease Day on the hill, Monday Feb 28.
