We last heard from Carla Davies in August of 2012 in her story, “Newly Wed Mom Battles Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension and Raises Awareness for Rare Disesase.”
After being diagnosed with IIH and migraines, I try to keep positive for my son who is now 18 months old! After having back surgery in August 2012 to correct my prolapsed disc, I decided I wanted to try to help other people to try to give me the motivation to keep pushing on each day, even though each day can be hard when you have a rare disease such as IIH.
With this in mind, I started to think of ways I could raise money for a charity, while taking my own limitations into account; therefore I decided to organize a charity auction night for Cancer Research UK with the help of my sister-in-law and husband.
I’m now waiting to see a new consultant who I am hoping can shed some light on how best to deal with my IIH and hopefully provide the best answers to making my life easier to live on a day-to-day basis. The Charity Auction Night takes place in six weeks, and we’re hoping to raise as much as we can for Cancer Research UK. After that, my family and I will be enjoying life as best we can!!
