My name is Leslie. I am 43 years old, married and have three boys. I been living with Scleroderma for almost eight years now. Since then, I had three surgeries on my heart because I had water around it. I have other connective diseases with this also, they are Vitiligo, Gastropherisis, high blood pressure, Raynauds and deformities in my feet.

Every year I always have been in the hospital for different ailments whether it’s high blood pressure, bowel obstruction etc. My family has been very supportive, especially my husband and my mother-in-law. My kids try as much as they can to help me out, but my youngest is 11 years old and has Autism/ADHD. My other two sons are in college and serving in the Navy, but they stay in touch always. I have a home health aide that assists me five days a week for five hours a day. My husband is the provider that takes care financially and supportively. He do a lot of household chores and shopping.

I am hoping that someone will find a cure for this disease, but at the same time, I want people to be educated about it. I wish to be able to do more for my family and myself, to live the way I used to live before with no people having to take care of me.
