The date for the highly anticipated 2016 Napa in Newport has been set for February 27 at the St. Regis Hotel in Dana Point. Southern California’s premier annual wine event, Napa in Newport unites 40 renowned vintners and wine enthusiasts to help find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a devastating genetic disease that robs children and young adults of their muscle strength and claims their lives by their mid-20s. All proceeds from the evening will benefit CureDuchenne, the national organization committed to finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Honorary co-chairs of this year’s Napa in Newport are Darioush and Shahpar Khaledi, owners of Darioush vineyards and winery. Darioush wine, a bottled translation of historical Persian wine culture, combines Shahpar’s experienced eye for design and etiquette with her husband Darioush’s craftsmanship and entrepreneurial fascination for winemaking.

Napa in Newport attendees will enjoy a selection of fine, rare and reserve wines from 40 select Napa Valley wineries including DarioushAlpha OmegaAmici CellarsAnomaly VineyardsArkenstone Napa ValleyArrow & Branch,  Blackbird Vineyards Bespoke CollectionBOND Estates,Broman CellarsCheckerboard VineyardsClif FamilyCrocker & StarrDakota ShyDana EstatesDavis EstatesFairchild Napa Valley, Fait-Main,Gandona Estate, Gargiulo VineyardsGemstoneHunnicuttJoseph Phelps WineryKelly Fleming WinesLokoyaMemento MoriMorlet Family VineyardsPatel Napa ValleyPlumpjackPromise WineQuintessaRedmon WinesRelicSequoia GroveSignorello EstateThree Sticks Wines,Vineyard 29Zakin Wines and ZD Wines.

About CureDuchenne

CureDuchenne was founded in 2003 with a focus on saving the lives of those with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a disease that affects more than 300,000 boys worldwide.  With support from CureDuchenne, three pharmaceutical treatments could be approved by the FDA within the next year.  These treatments may lessen the effects of the disease for those with certain mutations of Duchenne, but there is still much to be done to find a cure. For more information, please visit CureDuchenne.org and follow us on FacebookTwitter and YouTube.
