First off, MdDS can go to hell.

WHAT IS MdDS?

Mal de Debarquement Syndrome (or MdDS) is an imbalance or rocking/swaying sensation often both “felt” and “seen” by the sufferer that occurs after exposure to motion (most commonly after a sea cruise or a flight). Although other forms of travel have been known to trigger it.

I began to experience symptoms of rocking and brain fog immediately after my six day cruise. Soon after, the headaches started and I got anxious and nervous since I didn’t know what the heck was going on. One month later, it seemed like the symptoms were starting to go away. There was about 90% improvement with just some brain fog leftover. About a week after that, it came back and this is when I started to panic and began reaching out to everyone. All in all, I saw two ENTS, a neurologist, two general internists, a physical therapist, a chiropractor, a nutritionist and a few spiritual folks.
Of course, my MRI’s all came back negative, my chiropractor fixed a subluxation that I had, I learned I had high cholesterol and was pre-diabetic and working my liver to death with my horrible diet. (I’m 41 by the way.) So I drastically changed my diet and lost about 20 pounds in two months. Started on vitamins and supplements, detoxed my liver, began praying and receiving spiritual cleanses, talking with God in a very personal way… Actually, I reached out to friends and family and they started praying for me as well. I also started physical therapy exercises.
Well, the detox of my liver and change in diet was a success, I dropped my cholesterol by 50%! The physical therapy has also been helpful. I don’t become as unsteady as easily as I did before and my eye strain is reduced to just noticeable. Some of the exercises I do are: optokinetic video while moving my eyes and my head. Walking while moving my eyes up and down, side to side and rotating my head. A technique that I came up with was kneeling on my mattress and balancing myself with my eyes closed, then kneeling on the floor while raising my feet in the air and balancing myself with eyes open and closed. I felt myself more rooted immediately after this.

Don’t lose hope!
