Ashley Girtman joined Global Genes in August 2012, just a few weeks before its first annual Tribute to Champions of Hope event. Quickly rising to Program Manager, Ashley managed the registration and helped with planning for all of the events held during the special Tribute to Champions of Hope Gala weekend. In addition to overseeing this vastly popular and growing program, Ashley has successfully managed the Denim Genes Ribbon program through three consecutive World Rare Disease Days.
Before joining Global Genes, Ashley interned at To Write Love on Her Arms, a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. Ashley graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Nonprofit Leadership & Management. Global Genes, an organization whose mission is to eliminate the challenges of rare disease, is a natural fit for Ashley, who has always wanted to help others. In her free time, Ashley enjoys walking her yellow lab, traveling with her husband, and trying out new restaurants with friends.
