CF Foundation Celebrates Formation of Senate Cystic Fibrosis Caucus

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation celebrates the formation of a Senate Cystic Fibrosis Caucus and applauds the instrumental efforts of Senators Edward Markey (D-Mass.) and Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) in the creation of this caucus.

The Senate Cystic Fibrosis Caucus expands support for the CF community in the United States Congress, furthering its ability to pursue policy goals that advance research, drug discovery and development and access to high-quality, specialized care. It also presents senators with a concrete way of demonstrating their support for people with cystic fibrosis and their families.

This group will work closely with the House of Representatives’ Congressional Cystic Fibrosis Caucus, led by Representatives Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) and Tom Marino (R-Pa.), to raise awareness about CF and advance policies that help people with the disease live longer, healthier lives. The Congressional Cystic Fibrosis Caucus, formed in 2006, includes 143 bipartisan members and has been active in initiating numerous congressional briefings, group letters and pieces of legislation vital to the CF community.
