October 28, 2014

Star leftfielder Alex Gordon of the Kansas City Royals will once again team up with the Team Jack Foundation in the fight against pediatric brain cancer.  The Team Jack Foundation recently launched a “Pldgit Campaign” with Gordon called This World Series 2014:  Join Alex Gordon & Step Up to the Plate vs. Pediatric Brain Cancer in support of pediatric brain cancer.  Hits during the 2014 World Series will mean so much more than just a chance to take the crown.  For Alex, they are for a cure.

“Playing in the upcoming World Series is going to be the honor of a lifetime. I am so thankful to my coaches and teammates for this opportunity. I am also thankful that I will able to use this national platform to help find a cure for pediatric brain cancer.  I am excited to continue to support such a great cause and to dedicate the hits made during the series to the families all across the country who are fighting this disease. Please join me by pledging to donate for every hit I record during the series,” said Gordon.

The Kansas City Royals will be heading to the World Series for the first time since 1985 and fans and supporters all across the nation are ecstatic about their tangible momentum.  Key player, Alex Gordon, former Husker and Nebraska native, has become a hero in the post-season series carrying the Royals to the World Series.  Off the field, Gordon has become a hero too, to those children fighting pediatric brain cancer that is. Gordon is once again supporting the Team Jack Foundation in their efforts to fight for a cure through a “Pldgit Campaign” called This World Series 201:  Join Alex Gordon & Step Up to the Plate vs. Pediatric Brain Cancer.

Having the support of Alex Gordon for this campaign is a tremendous honor.  Alex’s involvement with our Foundation has made a huge impact on pediatric brain cancer and this just adds to his legacy of helping us fight,” said Andy Hoffman, Executive Director of Team Jack Foundation.  “We are indebted to Alex for letting us use his gigantic success as a platform to help find a cure for pediatric brain cancer. We hope that the nation will rally around his campaign and help us raise much needed funds for the number one childhood cancer cause of death.

Those who want to join Alex can either make a one-time donation or pledge to donate a certain amount every time the Alex Gordon has a hit during the 2014 MLB World Series.
