Type of disease: Rare conditions
Acrospiroma, or clear cell hidradenoma, is a type of tumor, often benign (non-cancerous), which affects the sweat glands in your skin. Your sweat glands are tiny openings in your skin that allow sweat to be released from your body. A benign tumor is a non-cancerous area of unusual tissue growth, which can sometimes cause a bump or mass. Acrospiroma tumors usually appear as swollen or puffy masses that can occur on many different surfaces of the skin. Although the precise cause of this disorder and risk factors are not completely understood, treatment for Acrospiroma can include surgical removal of the tumor.
