Blepharoptosis Aortic Anomaly
Type of disease: Rare conditions
Blepharoptosis – Aortic Aomaly is a rare condition characterized by drooping of the upper eyelids and problems with a major artery in the body (aorta). Hence, individuals with this condition may have impaired vision as well as problems with blood circulation. Problems with the aorta can cause individuals to be more prone to fatigue and to heart problems. The condition is often diagnosed during childhood. Doctors diagnose this condition based on physical examinations and scans of the heart and nearby arteries. Treatment is based on a case-by-case basis and depends on the specific needs of the patient. Eye and heart specialists may suggest individuals undergo surgery to fix problems to help relieve vision and heart problems.
