CCGE Syndrome
Acro-cardio-facial syndrome
Overview
Type of disease: Rare conditions
CCGE Syndrome, also known as Acro-cardio-facial syndrome, is a rare genetic condition. This condition results from a mutation or error in a person’s DNA or genes. This can cause birth defects such as cleft lip (gap in the upper lip); genital defects in males; the absence of one or more toes or fingers; seizures as well as intellectual developmental disorders. Although there is currently no cure for CCGE, there are various resources to help treat birth defects, such as surgical correction for cleft lip. Doctors seek help from various therapists and community services to provide support and care for families affected by CCGE.
