Cerebral Calcification Cerebellar Hypoplasia

Overview

Type of disease: Rare conditions

Cerebral Calcification Cerebellar Hypoplasia is a rare birth condition characterized by abnormal calcification (accumulation of solid calcium deposits) in parts of the brain, developmental regression, seizures, blindness, and spastic limbs (spastic tetraplegia). This condition has been found in two siblings, who both passed away before the age of seven. Treatment varies on a case-by-case basis, and may include physical therapy.
