Chromosome 10, Ring
Type of disease: Rare conditions
Chromosome 10 ring is a rare genetic condition. This condition results from a mutation or error in a person’s DNA or genes. This can cause birth defects such as low birth weight, wide-set nipples, and/or abnormally bent pinkie-fingers (clinodactyly), as well as intellectual deficit and growth retardation. Although there is currently no cure for chromosome 10 ring, there are various resources to help manage the condition and treat birth defects. Doctors seek help from various therapists and community services to provide support and care for families affected by chromosome 10 ring. Less than 20 cases have been documented to date.
