Cleft Lip Palate-Tetraphocomelia
Type of disease: Rare conditions
Also called Roberts syndrome (RBS), Cleft Lip Palate-Tetraphocomelia is a genetic disorder causing abnormalities in fetal development. It results in cloudy and widely spaced eyes and many malformations including cleft lip, a protrusive jaw, and joints unable to fully extend. The absence of cloudy eyes may lower chances of heart defects, and the presence of cloudy eyes is usually accompanied by mental retardation. Children with mild forms may live to adulthood.
