Congenital giant megaureter
Type of disease: Rare conditions
Congenital giant megaureter (CGM) is a descriptive term to note a ureter (the tube connecting the kindeys to the bladder) that has a diameter (width) more than 10 times the size of a normal ureter. It affects only one of the two ureters in the body (unilateral) and usually presents with a normal size and functioning bladder. Congenital giant megaureter is a rare subgroup of congenital primary megaureter. For more information see congenital megalo-ureter.
