Ectodermal Dysplasia 2, Hidrotic
Type of disease: Rare conditions
Hidrotic ectodermal dysplasia 2, or Clouston sundrome, is a rare genetic disorder. People with hidrotic ectodermal dysplasia 2 usually have wiry, brittle, and pale hair with milky white nails when they are born. After a few years they begin to lose all their hair and in extreme cases may be completely bald by the time they enter puberty. Other symptoms of hidrotic ectodermal dysplasia 2 include degeneration of the nails, more pigment (color) in the skin over their joints, and clubbed fingers. Talk with your doctor to find the best treatment for you if you have been diagnosed with hidrotic ectodermal dysplasia 2.
