Fetal Brain Disruption Sequence
Type of disease: Rare conditions
Fetal disruption sequence is a rare disorder of the brain which presents at birth. The cause is unknown, and it has been reported in fewer than 30 infants. Symptoms include microcephaly (small head and brain), scalp rugae (ridges on the scalp), and a prominent occipital bone (the bone located in the lower back of the skull). Infants with fetal disruption sequence have marked intellectual disability and generally poor outcomes.
