Leber miliary aneurysm
Type of disease: Rare conditions
Leber miliary aneursym is a rare disorder of the retina characterized by expanded blood vessels and balloon-like bulges from those vessels. The blood vessel abnormalities can affect retina function and result in vision problems. They can either block or distort the light entering the eye, causing improper processing of visual information in the brain. Hence, individuals with this disorder can experience blindness or distorted vision. Doctors often diagnose this condition through thorough eye examinations. Treatment depends on the size of the expansion and bulges of the blood vessels. Doctors may suggest individuals undergo surgery to fix the retina blood vessel problems.
