What Does It Take to Become a Research-Ready Organization? Understanding the research process and making sure you have the right pieces in place can attract researchers and industry investors. This webinar will cover terms and  concepts you need to know to prepare your community to engage with researchers and biotech, including:

• The building  blocks of basic and translational research and clinical trials
• Role of advocates in gathering data, improving diagnosis and expanding awareness
• Hows and whys of patient endpoint selection
• Working with regulatory bodies
• Getting up to speed on new treatments and innovative trial model

Karsten is currently the Associate Director of Translational Biology at Travere Therapeutics. Karsten is a passionate scientist with almost two decades of research experience.  When he embarked on this career path, he was motivated by scientific curiosity and the desire to help people who are suffering from disease.  This continues to be Karsten’s driving force.  It inspires him to work hard and to take on challenges that may seem insurmountable.  In the past years working in biotech, Karsten has been fortunate enough to witness how novel therapies can impact the lives of patients. Karsten feels that this is his calling, in particular in rare diseases that are neglected and have no available therapies.  To find treatments for these diseases, he believes we need to have all stakeholders involved. Karsten is excited to work with patient groups, academic and governmental institutions, and specialized research laboratories to discover and develop new ways of treating patients. Karsten firmly believes that together we will make a difference.
