Katie Mastro, one of Global Genes’ Program Managers, joined the nonprofit organization in August 2012. And through her expanded role, Katie has developed many educational resources and tools that are important for the large and often underserved rare disease community. Katie also manages and works with the RARE Corporate Alliance, a collection of industry and patient community members who are all interested in serving and bettering the rare disease community.
Before joining Global Genes, Katie volunteered and worked at other nonprofit organizations in the Orange County and Los Angeles areas. She holds a B.A. in History with a minor in Political Science from the University of California—Los Angeles. In her spare time, Katie can be found reading one of the many books on her “Must Read” list, exploring new hiking trails, or traveling.
