Global Genes® Expands Board of Directors & Medical and Scientific Advisory Board To Amplify Efforts for Rare Disease Community

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — December 8, 2016 — Global Genes®, one of the world’s leading nonprofit rare disease patient advocacy organizations, is pleased to announce the addition of key leaders and influencers to its Board of Directors and Medical and Scientific Advisory Board.

“Global Genes has entered into a time of significant growth, and with that comes the need for expanded guidance and expertise,” said Nicole Boice, CEO Global Genes. “As we prepare for the road ahead and embrace our roles and responsibilities to rare disease patients and families, it is critical that we bring together some of the best minds in the industry.”

Joining the Global Genes Board of Directors is Nauman Shah, Vice President, Enterprise Program Office Management of Johnson and Johnson. In addition, Global Genes is proud to announce the appointments of Wendy White, Sr VP Rare Diseases Dohmen Life Science Services, and former President Healthcare Business Women’s Association, as Global Genes Chairman of the Board, and Natalie Douglas, CEO Healthcare at Home as Vice Chairman of the Board.

Global Genes Medical and Scientific Advisory Board (MSAB) welcomes Robert Ring, former CSO of Autism Speaks with 16 years of experience in executive, strategic and technical leadership roles in the pharmaceutical, non-profit and venture philanthropy sectors. Also joining Global Genes MSAB are Marissa Brash, DrPH, MPH, CPH, and Jeffrey Sherman, MD, FACP, of Horizon Pharma. Dr. Brash is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at Azuza Pacific University (APU) and Program Director for the Public Health Masters and Doctoral Programs at APU, and Dr. Sherman serves as Global Genes® Expands
