Raremark builds research networks of rare disease patients and their families, providing biopharmaceutical companies with access to anonymized and aggregated patient data unavailable elsewhere that support clinical development and accelerate speed to market. The company combines machine-learning technology, behavioral-science models, patient advocacy, and online engagement to help patients and caregivers share information unavailable elsewhere.

Julie Walters founded Raremark with Peter Coe after her father died of a rare condition and she discovered the limited information and treatment choices available to him. Both are continuing with the company.

The company named industry veterans Neil Rotherham as chairman, Tim Davis as CEO, and Jeremy Edwards as chief commercial officer.

Rotherman trained as a physician and has spent his career in the pharmaceutical industry. He was founder of ClinPhone, which is now part of a Parexel’s eClinical technology platform.

Davis spent 23 years in the biopharmaceutical sector focused on clinical research organizations and digital health. He was co-founder and CEO of Exco InTouch, an interactive mobile service provider delivering innovative solutions for patient recruitment, engagement, and data capture.

Jeremy Edwards has spent nearly 25 years in the industry and has held executive leadership positions across the clinical development continuum.

“Raremark is a growing company with a vision of the future in which all rare diseases are treated,” said Raremark CEO Davis. “With such strong foundations, I’m excited to build on the innovative platform already in place, creating communities of people affected by a rare condition, sharing knowledge and harnessing the wisdom of the crowd. Patients can play a heroic role in drug development, particularly in rare disease, making the rare real for the next generation.”
