This is for children who have physical or emotional disabilities, are recovering from chemical dependency, or have an impairment that restricts one or more major life activities, which include:

• Caring for one’s self;
• Performing manual tasks;
• Eating;
• Vision;
• Hearing;
• Speaking;
• Walking;
• Breathing;
• Writing; and
• Learning difficulties.

The 504 addresses the modifications and accommodations that will be needed for children to be able to perform without receiving discrimination from their peers. For more information on 504s, see the Resource Guide.
