Date of Event:  April 27th, 2013
Organization: SK5K Race of Hope for CJD

SK5K Race of Hope for CJD is an organization that was founded in loving memory of Sandra Kelly, who lost her life to Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) in 2008. Currently, there is no known cure or treatment for CJD. Our mission is to help raise awareness of CJD and to raise funds for research, so that one day a cure and/or treatment can be found.

Proceeds from this event will be donated directly to the National Organization for Rare Disorders, Inc. and earmarked for CJD research in loving memory of Sandra Kelly. Sandra, mother to Jennifer Johnson, was taken by sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease on March 24, 2008.

To date, the events hosted in the last few years have raised $13,860 and already have 204 participants registered.
