Manager of Advocacy
Carrie Ostrea is the Manager of Advocacy for Global Genes. In this role, Carrie works closely with foundation leaders and patient advocates to provide education, empowerment, and support to the rare disease community. She also supports Global Genes’ efforts surrounding World Rare Disease Day, connecting advocates to available resources, organizing patient meetings, and bridging the gap between advocates and the bio/pharma industries.
Carrie is also the co-founder and Executive Director of the Little Miss Hannah Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on enhancing the quality of life for children diagnosed with rare and life-limiting conditions in Southern Nevada. The foundation was created in memory of her 3-year-old daughter, Hannah, who passed away from an ultra-rare genetic condition in 2011.
