Several hundred rare advocates, researchers, clinicians, students, and families will gather for CHOC and UCI’s Third Annual Rare Disease Symposium and Family Conference to share their research, knowledge, and experiences. This conference will feature the latest developments in diagnosis and treatment of Rare Diseases in Ophthalmology, Sexual Differentiation, Endocrinology, Cardiology, and Hematology, and include presentations by rare families.

Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and University of California, Irvine (UCI) Health have been jointly designated a National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) Rare Disease Center of Excellence, joining a highly select group of 31 medical centers seeking to expand access and advance care and research for rare disease patients in the United States.

Collaboration is key to pushing rare research forward by developing new care guidelines, improving medical and family education, creating safe and effective referral pathways, and innovating around new treatments, therapies, and research.
