Lunai Bioworks and Geneial announced plans to collaborate on building trial-ready patient cohorts in rare neurological diseases, aiming to convert fragmented, patient-generated data into actionable insights that support drug development and commercial partnerships.

The agreement, structured as a nonbinding letter of intent between BioSymetrics—a wholly owned subsidiary of Lunai—and Geneial, seeks to integrate rare disease datasets and establish pharmaceutical partnerships focused on developing therapies for underserved neurological conditions.

Lunai Bioworks develops AI-driven drug discovery platforms for central nervous system and other high-need therapeutic areas. Geneial builds precision medicine data infrastructure designed for rare and genetic diseases.

The companies said their initial programs will combine data from multiple patient registries and longitudinal clinical datasets to identify defined subgroups for clinical research. The collaboration is intended to help rare disease advocacy organizations make patient data usable for clinical development while reducing trial risk and accelerating study timelines.

Geneial’s AI-enabled platform will connect patient engagement networks with BioSymetrics’ analytical tools to generate insights that support therapeutic development.

“Geneial’s mission is to accelerate precision medicine by connecting patient communities, researchers, and industry partners,” said Adam Hansen, CEO of Geneial. “This collaboration links our patient data platform with BioSymetrics’ translational capabilities to move targeted therapies closer to the clinic.”

BioSymetrics Chief Scientific Officer Gabe Musso said the companies aim to make complex rare neurological disorder data “actionable for developmental programs” and improve efficiency in advancing potential treatments into clinical trials.
