Presented by Global Genes – Allies in Rare Disease
Thursday, September 14, 2017
This September, concurrent with its sixth annual RARE Patient Advocacy Summit, Global Genes will launch for the first time a Rare Partnering and Investor Forum to accelerate partnering, business development, investing and licensing activities between researcher scientists, academic institutions, non-profit disease research foundations, biopharmaceutical companies, venture investors and entrepreneurs focused on rare disease.
A central component of the Rare Partnering and Investor Forum will be a 1-to-1 partnering platform, supported by the EBD Group, which will bring unprecedented efficiency to rare disease networking, enabling individuals to search for and request meetings beforehand with key individuals to initiate investment, licensing, partnering and company formation discussions.
Alongside the 1-to-1 meetings, the forum will also include presentations from rare disease leaders with successful track records in developing and executing rare disease business plans, raising capital, engaging patient communities, and navigating the regulatory and commercialization paths unique to rare diseases. In addition, provocative panel discussions will occur between leading venture investors and pharma deal makers exploring novel models for hastening the development of desperately needed treatments for rare diseases while delivering shareholder returns.
Investors and those who #CareAboutRARE will converge at RARE Partnering, an event not to be missed.
“Patients and their families are the most powerful drivers of the orphan drug development process. They allow us to understand the purpose, the urgency. They allow us to focus and to explain to the many parties involved. They allow us to acquire the passion to succeed and to never give up … Nothing is more important.” – Henri Termeer, Former Chairman, President and CEO, Genzyme Corporation
