RARE parents provided their insight about preventing caregiver burnout and depression at the Patient Advocacy Summit in San Diego, California September 12-14, 2022.
Gay Grossman and Jessica Patay joined Parvathy Krishnan, all mothers and caregivers for individuals with a rare disease, to share their stories and how they have managed caregiver burnout and depression throughout their journeys as caregivers. Moderator Parvathy Krishnan asked pertinent questions like how they balance their work, home, and caregiving duties, as well as responsibilities to the advocacy groups that they lead.
Preventing Caregiver Burnout is part of the Caregivers Track at the summit. The Patient Advocacy Summit brings together rare disease patients, caregivers, advocates, healthcare professionals, researchers, partners, and allies to connect, learn, and have fun.
