Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy (PCAGOE) Selects 7000 Bracelets For Hope™ as August Charity Challenge

July 23, 2012

A global group of polymer artists known as The Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy (PCAGOE) has selected the 7000 Bracelets for Hope rare and genetic disease awareness campaign as their August Charity Challenge.

In addition to the PCAGOE blog, members promote the August Charity Challenge on Facebook and members’ blogs, increasing public awareness for the selected charity.  Past challenges with charity based objectives have included alphabet mosaics for children’s hospitals and auction-based fund raisers to support breast cancer awareness.

I am a member of the Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy (PCAGOE). All of our members sell their work in their Etsy shops. Our group also functions as a Guild, providing support, assistance, learning, and inspiration for our members. To those ends, we have monthly challenges, and at least once a year we dedicate a challenge to a charitable cause or event. This year one of our members suggested the Global Genes Project, and at least one of our members lives with one of the targeted are and genetic diseases, so it’s a great fit and a great cause.  – Jill Kollmann, JKay Jewelry

PCAGOE members have also participated in Bottles of Hope and Beads of Courage for cancer patients, as well as Hearts for Heroes to recognize active military personnel.

The Global Genes Project is honored to have been selected as the 2012 August Charity Challenge by the Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy.  Thank you to the PCAGOE and to member Arlene Harrison, the Charity Challenge coordinator!  Check out Arlene’s artistic work on Etsy.
