New RARE Toolkit – Exploring Treatment Options for Rare Disease: Cord Blood Transplants

September 26, 2014

For many, the statistic that there are drug treatments for only five percent of the rare diseases currently classified can be heart-breaking. But what if there was one for you?

An FDA-approved cellular therapy option is available for more than 80 rare diseases: cord blood transplants. Today, Global Genes released a much-needed toolkit as a part of its RARE Toolkit series. It covers what cord blood transplants are, how the process works, and the resources available to learn more.

We would like to thank our content partners, the Mason Shaffer Foundation and The Parent’s Guide to Cord Blood Foundation. Without their help, this toolkit would not have been made possible!

Want to see the toolkit in full? It’s available free online here.
