Rare Disease Report’s “Rare Disease Heroes” Nominations

August 7, 2016

This award was established to recognize hospitals that are dedicated to changing the way we manage rare conditions. Whether it is by advancing our understanding of a rare disease, helping patients better manage their condition, or finding more efficient ways to recognize and diagnose rare diseases, we want to help the community recognize those heroic partners that pursue research in areas that are more difficult to study and fund.

Winners: The winners will be announced at a special presentation in Arlington, Virginia, on October 17, 2016. Travel, accommodations, and relevant expenses will be covered for the persons accepting the awards.

Eligibility: Nominations are accepted for any hospital that is a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and/or has a medical school affiliation (AMA or AOA) in the United States.

Specialties: Five awards will be presented, with special reference to outstanding contributions to the rare disease community in Endocrinology, Genetics, Hematology, Lysosomal Diseases, and Neurology.
