Contracting and Licensing Intern

ROLE SUMMARY:

Global Genes is looking for a Licensing and Contracting Intern to join our team for a four-week period lasting from late July to late August 2023. The internship requires 10-15 hours of remote work per week.

The ideal candidate will have base-level knowledge in business contract development and be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in business or related majors.

Our internship provides an opportunity for students to gain practical experience with full cycle business contracting. In addition, the intern will learn about and engage in the licensing process for clinical outcome measures at a health tech organization.

Global Genes’ mission is to enable and empower rare disease patients and advocates. RARE-X is a Global Genes program focused on supporting the acceleration and development of life-altering treatments and future cures for patients impacted by rare diseases. Enabled by best-in-class technology, patients, researchers, and partners, RARE-X will support patients and advocates to gather structured, high-quality, standardized data to share broadly, benefitting from 21 st -century governance, consent, and federated data sharing platform technology. RARE-X intends to build the largest collaborative patient-driven, open-data access platform for rare diseases globally.

Responsibilities:

The intern will work with operations and tech development teams to

  • Research and organize clinical outcome measure licensing needs
  • Liaise with external licensors to facilitate the licensing and contracting process
  • Assist the review and negotiation of licensing agreement terms

Qualifications:

  • Entry-level experience with business contracting
  • Enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree program in business or related majors
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with patient assessment/surveys (preferred)

Pay range is $18 – $21 per hour depending on relevant experience.
